Neil Ambekar is a partner in the firm’s Workers’ Compensation practice group. He exclusively represents employers and carriers in workers’ compensation matters, including appeals and subrogation issues. He has tried cases before JCCs in every OJCC district office. 

He is board certified in Florida Workers’ Compensation Law. He is AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, and was named a “Best Lawyer in America” and a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2023, 2024 and 2025. He has spoken at numerous conferences and seminars on workers’ compensation issues, and authored several articles on workers’ compensation and related issues. 

Neil is a program chair of the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Forum and a member of the Florida Bar Workers’ Compensation Section Executive Council. In 2023, he helped to create the Section’s Emerging Leaders Committee, which provides training and mentoring programs for young lawyers. He is the vice-president of the Judge William Wieland Inn of Court. He formerly chaired the Florida Bar’s Workers’ Compensation Rules Advisory Committee and the OCBA Workers’ Compensation Section. 

Neil obtained a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida, and a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M University College of Law. Prior to law school, he worked as a paralegal for an insurance defense firm handling workers’ compensation matters, and he has nearly 20 years of workers’ compensation defense experience.
