Dwight O. Slater

Associate

Dwight O. Slater is an associate in Conroy Simberg’s Tallahassee office and is a member of the firm’s Appellate and Litigation Support practice groups. He has handled hundreds of appeals in state and federal courts and has presented oral argument before all of Florida’s district courts of appeal. 

Dwight started his career as an Assistant Public Defender in Orlando where he tried numerous jury and non-jury trials. He began handling appellate matters for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration in 2009, and went on to serve as Regional Appellate Counsel for the Florida Department of Children and Families’ Children’s Legal Services and as Chief Appellate Counsel for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Dwight has been in private practice for the past several years providing litigation support in various matters for large state and national entities. He joined Conroy Simberg in 2024. 

Dwight earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Emory University School of Law. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Stanford University.
