Matthew R. Scott, Jr. is a member of the firm’s Workers’ Compensation Defense practice. Matthew focuses his practice on the defense and counsel of employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in Workers’ Compensation claims throughout Florida. Matthew manages cases at every stage of the process, from initial evaluation of a claim through resolution. He joins Conroy Simberg after obtaining seven years of experience in Workers’ Compensation defense. Prior to entering private practice, Matthew was a certified legal intern in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida’s Public Defender Office where he handled first appearances, pleas, docket calls, and probation violation hearings. 

Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and his juris doctor from the Barry University School of Law. While in law school, Matthew gained experience as a certified legal intern at the Barry University School of Law’s Collaborative Family Law Clinic.
