Nicholas E. Monk

Nicholas E. Monk, an associate in Conroy Simberg’s Tallahassee office, represents clients in first party property and coverage claims, general liability and casualty defense, and insurance coverage disputes. 

Prior to joining Conroy Simberg, Nick represented clients within the fields of employment law, workers’ compensation coverage, and general civil litigation. Nick also worked in the Second Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office, where he gained valuable trial experience.

Nick earned his law degree from Emory University. Prior to attending law school, Nick worked as a manager for a national uniform supply corporation.

Representative Experience:

  • Nick secured a defense verdict on a first party homeowners claim in Pinellas County. The Plaintiffs argued at trial the damage to the roof and interior of the home the were the result of a non-catastrophic weather event. The Defendant argued the damage to the roof was the result of wear and tear. The Defendant also argued the interior damage was excluded from coverage as it was not the result of a wind created opening caused by a peril insured against. The jury found for the Defendant and awarded the Plaintiffs nothing ($0) for repair of the home.
