We are excited to announce that Miles A. McGrane, IV, a partner in our Hollywood Office, has been appointment by the Florida Supreme Court to the Standard Jury Instructions Committee (Civil) for a three-year term starting in 2025. This is a prestigious appointment as its members are selected directly by the Florida Supreme Court to assist in reviewing and amending the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure. Miles is the only trial attorney from a statewide defense firm appointed to the Committee. We are pleased that Miles not only provides our clients with the highest level of representation that they deserve and expect but also continues to help shape the legal system in Florida through his role in committees such as this one.

We are excited to share that 24 Conroy Simberg attorneys have been recognized by their peers for inclusion in the 2025 edition of the Best Lawyers in America directory. Additionally, 9 of our attorneys have been selected for the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list.

Moreover, Bruce F. Simberg (Product Liability Litigation - Defendants) and Scott D. Krevans (Insurance Law) have been honored as "Lawyer of the Year" in Fort Lauderdale. This prestigious title is awarded to only one lawyer in each practice area and location each year. 

Neil Ambekar, a partner in the firm’s Orlando office, has been appointed as Chair of the Workers' Compensation Rules Advisory Committee effective July 1, 2024. The Committee's goal is to provide assistance to the DOAH and OJCC in drafting workers’ compensation procedural rules. The Committee is composed of experienced workers’ compensation practitioners and judges. The Committee is also responsible for monitoring rule changes proposed by the DOAH and OJCC. 

Conroy Simberg is pleased to announce Hinda Klein, a partner in Hollywood and chair of the firm’s appellate practice group, and Jayne Pittman, managing partner in Orlando and chair of the firm's construction practice were selected to the 2024 Florida Super Lawyers list.

Matthew J. Troy, a partner in Conroy Simberg’s Orlando office, will be a co-presenter on a webinar presented by The Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee and the Workers’ Compensation Section on July 10, 2024. Titled “The Art of the Deposition, Perspectives from Both Sides,” the webinar will cover the preparation, taking, and defending of depositions in workers' compensation cases, as well as how to prepare depositions for use at final hearing.
