Tom McCausland and Miles McGrane, IV, both partners in our Hollywood office, recently obtained a defense verdict in a Highlands County, Florida case involving an accident between our client’s tractor-trailer and the Plaintiff’s Honda.
 
Plaintiff alleged that our client failed to yield the right of way resulting in the accident. Plaintiff alleged a fractured vertebrae with kyphoplasty and over $600,000 in past and future medical expenses. We argued that the cause of the accident was Plaintiff driving 15 mph over the speed limit on an unfamiliar dark road. We also had to contend with the fact that the driver of our client’s vehicle was a 5 time-convicted felon. 
 
Ultimately, the jury returned a defense verdict in a little over an hour.
